CALCULATE THE FORMWORK AREA

Welcome to ALPHA BIM! 👋

An important task in construction is Quantity Takeoff. And this is also a fairly time-consuming work of Quantity Surveyor.

For the traditional way, the engineer will rely on AutoCAD drawings to calculate the components according to formulas and use Excel files to synthesize volumes.

Today, with the development of construction technology, we will take advantage of the BIM model to quantity takeoff faster.

What is ALPHA BIM?

If this is your first time hearing about ALPHA BIM, please check out the overview article about ALPHA BIM here: https://alphabimvn.com/all_plugins

In this article, I will introduce you to how to use one of the amazing tools of Alpha BIM to quickly calculate formwork quantities from the 3D structural BIM model.

This tool has been used by me on many large projects, including high-rise buildings of major contractors like Ricons, Coteccons, Hoà Bình, An Phong, Tân Kỷ, SC5, helping to speed up the process and easily control the calculation results.

This tool is available on the Autodesk App Store. You can download it here: https://bit.ly/3e8ouEs

Step 1: Build Revit Model

You can use the Revit tool that automatically creates models from AutoCAD to save time.

Step 2: Auto Join

Join Revit model according to your specified quantity takeoff.

Alpha BIM’s free Auto Join Revit tool can help you quickly join models and control priority order when joining.

Step 3: Calculate the Formwork Area

If you calculate formwork area manually using Autodesk Revit solutions, you will have to do it like this video.

Using the Alpha BIM Formwork Area tool will help you accurately calculate formwork area and quickly draw the formwork model.

Here is a detailed video tutorial. Let's see to better understanding to calculate the Formwork Area with just one click.
